TDM Modules

Juniper’s time division multiplexing (TDM) pluggable portfolio enables network operators to take the first step towards migrating legacy TDM networks to a modern packet-based infrastructure. By deploying TDM SFP pluggables directly in a Juniper router, operators can then transport both plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) and synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) TDM traffic (converted into a packet stream) across a packet-switched network.

Key Features

  • Interfaces: T1, E1, DS3, STM1, STM4, STM16
  • Distance: 450 ft to 15 km

Features + Benefits

Lower operational costs

Smart SFP transceivers enable easy and simplified migration and upgrades from legacy networks to packet-switched networks (PSNs).

Operational simplicity and flexibility

You don’t need to configure individual TDM interfaces over packet connections. You can deploy additional equipment only if you need it.

Space saving

Installment of SFP module does not require additional rack space.

Low carbon footprint

Lower power consumption. Reduced electronic waste as existing TDM access nodes are still in use after migration.
