Steel-Belted Radius Carrier is a standards based AAA server that enables Service Providers to integrate their business intelligence into the network infrastructure.

• Support for a range of network access methods: SBR Carrier supports a broad range of access technologies, including VPN, xDSL, FTTH, dial-up, 3GPP, WiMAX, UMA/Femtocell, and WLAN (802.1x).

• Enhanced network security: Centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) and management of subscribers enable compliance with security policies.
• Seamless integration: SBR Carrier's seamless operation in heterogeneous environments simplifies deployment and day-to-day operations. It integrates with existing subscriber management systems and can consolidate existing AAA solutions into a single centralized AAA server.

The following optional modules are available under separate license for Steel-Belted Radius Carrier:

• JavaScript: Fine-tune the behavior of SBR Carrier and implement custom request processing logic with JavaScript, an easy-to-use, industry standard scripting language with a powerful, object-based syntax. Scripts can configure SBR Carrier to evaluate complex decision logic and manipulate RADIUS requests in ways that can't be expressed in the standard SBR Carrier initialization files.
• WiMAX Module: Provide SBR Carrier support for WiMAX, including multiple EAP methods, robust mobile IP session management, and cryptographic key management with this module.
• SIM Module: Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) service providers can provide wireless data access to subscribers by using the SIM Module for authentication. Service providers can deploy IP base service access, while leveraging SS7-based authentication systems. The SIM Module retrieves security information from an HLR to authenticate users or devices that use a provider's SIM (GSM) or USIM (UMTS) card.
