The Problem

As voice over IP (VoIP) applications become more important to advanced broadband services, service providers must deliver VoIP the same quality and security that consumers expect with legacy phone service.

The Solution

To help service providers meet these requirements, Juniper Networks provides router-integrated session border control (SBC) products that include Border Signaling Gateway and Border Gateway Function applications, which are supported by M Series, MX Series, and T Series routers. These applications can be deployed independently of each other or combined with security features to create an integrated multiservice gateway (IMSG) on the same routing platform, permitting a wide variety of flexible deployment models.

Products You'll Need

• The Border Signaling Gateway for JUNOS® Software: An individually licensed software application that provides Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) functions and a back-to-back user agent (B2BUA) implementation that manages sessions, performs topology hiding, and is responsible for SIP routing policy decisions.
• The Border Gateway Function for JUNOS® Software: An individually licensed software application that provides media gateway control and media latching functions, Network Address Translation and network address port translation traversal, Differentiated Services Code Point marking, and rate limiting.
