SNMPTRAP: Community FORMAT Character
This protocol anomaly is an SNMP trap with a % character in the community string. This can cause some SNMP servers to behave incorrectly.
Extended Description
This signature detects an SNMP TRAP packet with a '%' character in the community string. Receiving such a packet may indicate that an attempt to attack a system is underway. Protocol anomalies of this type may also be the result of incorrectly configured, or badly implemented software.
