SNMP: Invalid Message Format
This protocol anomaly triggers when it detects a malformed SNMP message that does not have the proper ASN encoding.
Extended Description
If an SNMP datagram is detected in which any field is not correctly BER-encoded, this constitutes a protocol anomaly, and could indicate a network configuration error. It could also indicate that malicious activity, involving the intentional injection of malformed SNMP packets into a network, is underway.
