SMTP: MailMax Buffer Overflow - Windows x86

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against SmartMax MailMax, a Microsoft Windows e-mail server. Attackers can use a malicious SMTP command processing function to gain SMTP process privileges.

Extended Description

Smartmax MailMax is an email server for Windows 95/98/NT. It is vulnerable to buffer overflow attacks against the SMTP-command processing function. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the SMTP process.
