SMTP: Norton Antivirus Compressed File Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known flaw in Norton Antivirus 2002 and 2003. A successful attack could result in a denial of service of the mail server processing a malicious file attachment sent via SMTP.

Extended Description

Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2002 and 2003 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a compressed archive that contains a large number of directories.
