SCADA: WellinTech Kingview SCADA HistoryServer.exe Opcode 3 Heap Buffer Overflow
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the WellinTech KingView SCADA software. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.
Extended Description
KingView is prone to a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the SYSTEM user. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in a denial-of-service condition. KingView 65.30.2010.18018 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
