RPC: VMware vCenter Server DCERPC Authentication Pointer Use of Out-of-range Pointer Offset

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against VMWare vCenter. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.

Extended Description

The VMware vCenter Server contains an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the implementation of the DCERPC protocol.A malicious actor with network access to vCenter Server may trigger an out-of-bound write by sending a specially crafted packet leading to memory corruption.
