RPC: TT Real Path Overflow
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the ToolTalk rpc.ttdbserverd. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.
Extended Description
IBM AIX is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because the software fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data. Remote attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code with superuser privileges, which can result in the complete compromise of affected computers. Failed exploit attempts will cause a denial-of-service condition.
