RPC: Null taddr2uaddr Portmap Request

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against portmap. Avaya Proactive Contact 3.0, HP HP-UX B.11.11, HP HP-UX B.11.23, Sun Solaris 8, Sun Solaris 8 x86, Sun Solaris 9, Sun Solaris 9 x86 are vulnerable. A SUNRPC portmap 'taddr2uaddr' request is made with a null data value. A successful attack can result in a denial-of-service condition.

Extended Description

The Solaris operating system is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue to crash the 'rpcbind(1M)' server, denying service to legitimate users.
