PORTMAPPER: Dump Proc

This protocol anomaly is the use of the DUMP procedure of the portmapper RPC service. This procedure returns all the registered RPC services on the server and can be used to launch further exploits on the server.

Extended Description

Detection of an RPC DUMP request in network traffic could indicate an attacker is probing the RPC server for vulnerabilities.
