LPD: Hummingbird LPD Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Hummingbird Connectivity 10 SP5. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.

Extended Description

Hummingbird Connectivity 10 LPD daemon is prone to a remote stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because the software fails to perform sufficient boundary checks on user-supplied data. A successful exploit will allow an unauthenticated attacker to obtain SYSTEM-level access to a vulnerable computer.
