LDAP: IBM Lotus Domino LDAP Server Invalid DN Message Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in Lotus Domino's LDAP Server. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.

Extended Description

IBM Lotus Domino Server is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer. An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial of service.
