IMAP: Reference Buffer Overflow
This protocol anomaly triggers when it detects an IMAP reference field that is too long. This can indicate a buffer overflow attempt.
Extended Description
An IMAP datagram that contains a reference string longer than 1,024 bytes constitutes a protocol anomaly. This condition could be the result of a network configuration error. It could also indicate that an attack against the IMAP client or server is being attempted.
