ICMP6: DNSmasq icmp6_packet Heap Buffer Overflow

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in DNSmasq. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the server. Successful exploitation could result in arbitrary code execution under the security context of the root user.

Extended Description

Heap-based buffer overflow in dnsmasq before 2.78 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via a crafted IPv6 router advertisement request.
