HTTP: XOOPS View Photos PHP Cross Site Scripting
This signature detects attempts to exploit cross-site scripting vulnerability in XOOPS. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input submitted to the uid parameter of the view_photos.php script. A successful attack can result in the compromise of Web browser cookies associated with the site, and modification of user information.
Extended Description
XOOPS is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This can allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
