HTTP: WordPress WP-Stats-Dashboard Plugin Multiple Cross Site Scripting
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known cross-site scripting vulnerability in the WordPress WP-Stats-Dashboard Plugin. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. Attackers can steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
Extended Description
WP-Stats-Dashboard is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker may leverage these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may let the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. WP-Stats-Dashboard 2.6.5.1 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
