HTTP: PhotoSmash Galleries WordPress Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known cross-site scripting vulnerability in Wordpress. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the PhotoSmash Galleries Plugin. A successful attack can result in the compromise of Web browser cookies associated with the site, and modification of user information.
Extended Description
The PhotoSmash Galleries WordPress Plugin is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This can allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. PhotoSmash Galleries WordPress Plugin 1.0.1 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
