HTTP: Microsoft SharePoint Reflected List Parameter Cross-Site Scripting
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against Microsoft SharePoint. Attackers can escalate privileges remotely which allows an anonymous attacker to potentially issue SharePoint commands in the context of an authenticated user.
Extended Description
Microsoft SharePoint is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to perform unauthorized actions such as reading, modifying, or deleting content on behalf of the victim on the SharePoint site.
