HTTP: Pacer Edition CMS email Parameter Cross Site Scripting

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known cross-site scripting vulnerability in Pacer Edition CMS. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. Attackers can steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Extended Description

The Pacer Edition CMS is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks. The Pacer Edition CMS RC 2.1 is vulnerable; prior versions may also be affected.
