HTTP: Adobe ColdFusion searchlog.cfm Parameter Cross Site Scripting
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known cross-site scripting vulnerability against Adobe ColdFusion. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. Attackers can steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
Extended Description
Adobe ColdFusion is prone to multiple HTML-injection vulnerabilities because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected application, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible. Adobe ColdFusion 8.0.1 and earlier are vulnerable.
