HTTP: Internet Explorer <BGSOUND> Tag NetBIOS Call
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the BGSOUND tag in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Attackers can include a reference to a file located on a NetBIOS share in the SRC value of the BGSOUND tag to trick viewers using Internet Explorer into exposing their cleartext password or NTLMv1 challenge.
