HTTP: VisiWave Site Survey vwr File Processing Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in VisiWave Site Survey. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.

Extended Description

VisiWave Site Survey is prone to a stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data. Attackers may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions. VisiWave Site Survey versions prior to 2.1.9 are vulnerable.
