HTTP: Microsoft Windows Media DVR-MS File Memory Corruption

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against Microsoft Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center. A successful attack can lead to memory corruption and arbitrary code execution.

Extended Description

Microsoft Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center are prone to a remote code-execution vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue by enticing an unsuspecting user into opening a malicious file with the vulnerable application. A successful exploit will allow arbitrary code to run in the context of the currently logged-in user.
