HTTP: AstonSoft DeepBurner DBR Compilation Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the AstonSoft DeepBurner. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the affected application. Version prior to 1.8.0 are affected. Other versions might also be affected.

Extended Description

AstonSoft DeepBurner is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied input before using it in a memory copy operation. Exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to overwrite a sensitive memory buffer with arbitrary data, potentially allowing them to execute malicious machine code in the context of the affected application. This vulnerability may facilitate the compromise of affected computers. AstonSoft DeepBurner 1.8.0 and 1.9.0.228 are affected; previous versions may be vulnerable as well.
