HTTP: Adobe Shockwave SWCtl.SWCtl ActiveX Vulnerability
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Shockwave Player ActiveX Control. An Attacker can create malicious Web pages containing dangerous ActiveX calls, which if accessed by a victim, can allow the attacker to gain control of the victim's Web browser.
Extended Description
Stack-based buffer overflow in the SWCtl.SWCtl ActiveX control in Adobe Shockwave allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a long argument to the ShockwaveVersion method.
