HTTP: BitDefender Online Scanner ActiveX Control Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in BitDefender Online Scanner ActiveX Control. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing dangerous ActiveX calls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser.

Extended Description

BitDefender Online Scanner is prone a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data. Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer).
