HTTP: Akamai Download Manager ActiveX Control

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in Internet Explorer. An attacker can create Web pages containing dangerous ActiveX Controls, which if accessed by a victim, can gain control of the client browser.

Extended Description

Microsoft Internet Explorer is prone to an arbitrary code-execution vulnerability because the application fails to load a DLL library when instantiated as an ActiveX control. An attacker may exploit this issue to crash Internet Explorer, effectively denying service to legitimate users and may cause arbitrary code to run within the context of the user running the application.
