HTTP: Samsung NET-i ware BackupToAvi Method ActiveX
This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX control in the Samsung NET-i ware. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser.
Extended Description
Samsung NET-i ware is prone to multiple denial-of-service and remote code-execution issues. Attackers could exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer) or cause a denial -of-service condition. Samsung NET-i ware 1.37 and prior are vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
