HTTP: NTR ActiveX control Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls in NTR. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser.

Extended Description

NTR ActiveX control is prone to multiple remote buffer-overflow vulnerabilities and a remote code-execution vulnerability. Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code within the context of the application using the vulnerable control. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition. NTR ActiveX control 1.1.8 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
