This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls in the Edraw Office Viewer Component. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser

Extended Description

The Edraw Office Viewer Component ActiveX control is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data. Successful exploits will allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application (typically Internet Explorer) using the ActiveX control. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions. Edraw Office Viewer Component 5.6.5781 is vulnerable; other versions may be affected.
