HTTP: 7-Zip RAR Solid Compression Remote Code Execution
This signature detects attempt to exploit remote code execution vulnerability in the RAR component of 7-Zip. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a victim user to open a maliciously crafted file. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code under the context of the application.
Extended Description
Incorrect initialization logic of RAR decoder objects in 7-Zip 18.03 and before can lead to usage of uninitialized memory, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault) or execute arbitrary code via a crafted RAR archive.
