HTTP: Savant Web Server Invalid GET Request

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against the Savant HTTP server. Savant HTTP server 3.0 and earlier versions are vulnerable. Attackers can send a maliciously crafted HTTP GET request to the Web server to crash the server and create a denial of service.

Extended Description

A buffer overflow exists in the Savant Web Server. It is possible to exploit this overflow by sending an unusually long GET request to the server.
