HTTP: Allaire JRUN DoS
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against Allaire JRun 3.0/3.1. Attackers can send a long string of "." characters after the /servlet/ prefix in the URL to cause the server to interpret the URL as a very large tree of non-existent directories; consequently consuming system resources and causing a denial-of-service condition.
Extended Description
A denial of service condition exists in the JRun web application server. Requesting multiple malformed URLs by way of the java servlet, will cause the JRun application server to stop responding.
