DNS: Bind9 Assertion Denial of Service

This signature detects malformed DNS packets that can cause ISC Bind 9 to crash with a failed assertion. Remote attackers can exploit the vulnerability causing a denial of service.

Extended Description

ISC BIND is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue to cause the 'named' process to crash, denying service to legitimate users.
