DHCP: Invalid Option Value
This protocol anomaly is a DHCP message that has an invalid OVERLOAD option value. RFC-1533 specifies that values 1, 2, or 3 can be used to indicate that the Filename (1), the Server Hostname (2), or both (3) can be used to store more options.
Extended Description
If a DHCP datagram contains an OVERLOAD option value that exceeds 3, this constitutes a protocol anomaly. The condition may indicate a network configuration error. It could also indicate that a malicious activity, possibly involving the injection of malformed DHCP packets, is underway.
