IRC: Username Overflow
This protocol anomaly detects an IRC user name length that exceeds the user-defined maximum. The user name is an argument for the USER command. The default user name length is 16; you can change this setting in the Sensor Settings Rulebase>Protocol Thresholds and Configuration>IRC>User name length.
Extended Description
User names in IRC messages that exceed the maximum defined length are considered protocol anomalies and should be detected.
