APP: Symantec IM Manager Administrator Interface SQL injection

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in Symantec IM Manager. An attacker can exploit this issue by manipulating the SQL query logic to carry out unauthorized actions on the underlying database.

Extended Description

Symantec IM Manager is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data before using it in an SQL query. A successful exploit can allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerability in the underlying database. Versions prior to Symantec IM Manager 8.4.18 are vulnerable.
