APP: IBM Informix Dynamic Server DBINFO Stack Buffer Overflow
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in IBM Informix Dynamic Server DBINFO. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.
Extended Description
IBM Informix Dynamic Server is prone to a remote stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary-checks on user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer. An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected server. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.
