This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the IBM Informix Dynamic Server. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.
Extended Description
The 'librpc.dll' RPC protocol parsing library is prone to a remote stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary-checks on user-supplied data. Successfully exploiting this issue will allow attackers to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level privileges. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.
