APP: Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Buffer Overflow
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Electronic Arts Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead and Breakthrough games. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the affected application. Version 2.15, 2.40 b, 1.11 v9, 1.1 and 1.0 are affected by this vulnerability. Other versions might also be affected.
Extended Description
A remote buffer-overflow vulnerability was reported in Medal of Honor Allied Assault. This issue may permit remote code execution in vulnerable game servers and clients. However, clients are reported to be affected only in LAN games, since Internet games use the Gamespy protocol. The issue also affects various expansion packs for the game.
