Open IP Service Creation Program

Juniper Networks' Session and Resource Control (SRC) Portfolio offers an opportunity for innovative software developers, content infrastructure providers, and system integrators to take advantage of its market leading position to generate new service provisioning and management functionality. As service providers consistently seek to maintain a competitive edge by devising new service revenues while maintaining operational and capital costs, they need innovative, intelligent service applications that bring ongoing profitable value to the network. Through the OSCP, participants can expand their market reach and deployment opportunities by developing advanced policy control and service management applications that utilize the SRC products, namely the SDX-300 and C-series with the SRC applications.

By building interfaces or applications for the SRC platforms, developers can capitalize on its robust features and intelligent "flow-through" service controls that are attractive to top-tier providers. As the market leading policy and resource management platform, the SRC Portfolio ensures that multiplay services are successfully delivered over a variety of broadband access networks.

Juniper's OSCP program hits squarely on the focus point for the merger of applications and networks into a single service experience. No network vendor can provide the full set of applications needed to ensure service providers secure the maximum opportunity that new-generation networks can support, and Juniper's program builds a powerful framework for partnership to do just that.

Session and Resource Control

Juniper Networks Session and Resource Control Portfolio consists of advanced hardware and sophisticated software that extend Juniper's experience in providing highly intelligent reliable and scalable IP network layer solutions to the policy and control layer. The portfolio includes the widely deployed SDX and Steel-Belted Radius Service Provider Edition platforms, as well as the recently introduced SRC software module family and the high performance C-series Controllers.

The Session and Resource Control portfolio utilizes widely adopted standards-based open interfaces to maximize interoperability with the broadest range of network elements, applications, and OSS/BSS platforms. At the network layer, the portfolio is fully integrated with Juniper Networks routing platforms and security solutions, and extends support to third party devices via a simple scripting service. Support is also extended to PCMM-compliant cable modem termination system (CMTS) devices used in cable networks. The portfolio also provides a powerful Meta-Directory capability for rapid integration with external repositories and related systems that support billing, customer care, order entry, provisioning, billing and security.

The Session and Resource Control Portfolio is a carrier grade policy and control solution that, together with integrated third party platforms and applications, supports the delivery of high value differentiated services across multi-vendor network infrastructures and enables the smooth migration to next generation network Cable, 3GPP IMS and ETSI TISPAN architectures. In combination, the products and solutions of the Session and Resource Control portfolio provide Juniper customers with a broad set of open, agile and customizable policy and control options to address their diverse, and unique, business and technical requirements.

Program Levels

This multi-tiered, fee-based program offers participants the opportunity to engage with Juniper in several ways based on desired objectives. Parties may wish to develop basic, "proof-of-concept" functionalities or at a higher program tier, utilize an extended set of resources to develop "market ready" applications for more immediate customer deployments.

Three OSCP partnership levels are available:

  • Premium Tier
    • Designed for ISVs and systems integrators or parties that are or wish to be engaged with Juniper as a strategic partner or channel in developing/selling SRC multi-service solutions.
  • Preferred Tier
    • Designed for application-specific parties - such as infrastructure vendors, application/content/hosting providers - desiring to build production-level solutions.
  • Select Tier
    • Designed for application-specific parties - infrastructure vendors, application/content/hosting providers - desiring to build basic "proof-of-concept" solutions.
