Transforming from a mobile service provider into a digital operator
Turkcell wanted to transform from a mobile service provider into a digital operator, providing not only voice, data, and TV to nearly 37 million subscribers, but also offering in-demand digital services such as streaming media, gaming, messaging, and payments.
Business services, including data center, public and private cloud, and enterprise network services, share the same transport network, and must perform at the highest levels of reliability, security, and service assurance.
Turkcell set out to move its IP core network to 400 Gbps and prepare its mobile edge IP network for 5G. It also needed to act swiftly to meet the sudden increased demand for digital services at the start of the pandemic.
A 400-Gbps core network and 5G-ready mobile edge
Turkcell deployed Juniper Networks® PTX10016 Packet Transport Router and Juniper Networks MX100016 and MX10008 Universal Routing Platforms for the IP core and mobile edge networks. Juniper Advisory and Professional Services supported the migration with expert deployment assistance and onsite engineering support.
