SDN-ready MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers provide the necessary transport services such as L2-VPN, L3-VPN, IPsec, deep packet inspection (DPI) and analytics, enabling next-generation backhaul architecture for LTE-Advanced.
TCA Series Timing Appliances act as precision time protocol (PTP) grandmaster and client clocks to provide highly accurate frequency and phase synchronization within the radio access network. Integrated PTP technology within the ACX Series and MX Series maximizes the scalability and accuracy of the overall Juniper solution, while SRX Series Services Gateways act as LTE security gateways (SecGWs) to protect mobile network and user traffic from internal and external threats. To accommodate X2 latency requirements for LTE-Advanced, the SecGW function can also be distributed throughout MX Series aggregation routers.
Junos Space automates the management of Juniper elements and plays a key role in transforming the economics of managing mobile backhaul networks. Purpose-built applications, such as Junos Space Services Activation Director, automate the configuration and provisioning of services; and custom network management applications can be created and deployed using the Junos Space SDK toolkit.
