Before You Start the SRC CLI

Make sure the SRC software has been configured for remote access through SSH. To enable root access over an SSH connection, you must configure the system services ssh root-login allow statement.

Note

For security reasons, we recommend that you do not allow remote users to access the CLI as root. Instead, you can use the following statement to create a username and password that a user can use to log in to the C Series Controller as root through SSH:

system login user user-name {

class class;

authentication {

plain-text-password;

encrypted-password " password ";

ssh-authorized-keys [ssh-authorized-keys ...];

}

}

For information about initial CLI configuration, see the SRC PE Getting Started Guide.
