This section describes the features in Juniper Support Insights.

Device Management and Insights

  • Adopt Devices—You can adopt devices to Juniper Support Insights and view operational insights collected from the adopted devices. You adopt a device by logging into the device's CLI and committing the outbound SSH configuration that Juniper Support Insights provides in the Installed Base tab (Organization > Inventory).

    [See Adopt a Device.]

  • View Device Inventory Information—You can view detailed information on the devices connected to your organization from the Installed Base tab (Organization > Inventory). Juniper Support Insights provides the following reports and data insights on your devices:

    • Assets and contracts reports

    • Hardware EOL and EOS information of your devices

    • Proactive bug notifications (PBN) that helps you identify potential bugs in the routers so you can plan software or hardware upgrades.

    • Security Incident Resource Team (SIRT) advisories, which provides you with information about vulnerabilities that affect the devices in your network.

    • Recommendations on the software you can consider upgrading your devices to.

    [See About the Inventory Page.]

  • Device Utilities—You can access devices remotely using the device utilities to help you connect, troubleshoot, and test your devices. The devices utilities are available under the Action column in the Installed Base tab (Organization > Inventory).

    [See Device Utilities.]

License Management

  • Manage Your Juniper Device Entitlements and Licenses—You can view details of entitlements and licenses for all your Juniper devices on the License Dashboard page (Organization > Licensing). An entitlement represents a license that you purchased to use a feature on a device. An entitlement becomes a license when you activate that entitlement on a device. You can also activate an entitlement, view the compliance status of licenses, and view and manage your existing entitlements from the License Dashboard page.

[See About the License Dashboard Page.]

  • Add Entitlements to a Group—You can view all entitlements that are associated with your Juniper account on the Add to Group tab (Organization > Licensing > Add to Group). The Add to Group tab remains the same across organizations for your Juniper account. Organization > Licensing > Entitlements).

[See About the Add to Group Tab.]

  • View and Manage Entitlements—You can view all entitlements that you added to an entitlement group on the Entitlements tab (Organization > Licensing > Entitlements). You can also use the Entitlements tab to activate an entitlement on a selected device or remove an entitlement from the entitlement group.

    [See About the Entitlements Tab.]

  • Manage Active Licenses—You can view details of active licenses on your Juniper devices on the Activations tab (Organization > Licensing> Activations). You can revoke an active license from this tab and reuse that license on another device until the license expires. You can also download a license and configure it manually on a device by using SSH.

[See About the Activations Tab and Download and Activate a License Manually.]

  • Manage Compliance Status of Features—You can view a compliance report of the installed feature licenses on the Compliance tab (Organization > Licensing > Compliance). The report provides information on whether the features used on a device are in compliance with the licenses installed. You can also view reasons for non-compliance, and recommendations to resolve a non-compliance issue.

    [See About the Compliance Tab.]
