Configuring Connectivity for IS-IS Topology Acquisition
If BGP-LS is not being used, you must configure one of the IGP protocols on the CSD-Topology. To enable IS-IS on the CSD-Topology, before you begin, complete the following tasks:
Verfiy IP connectivity between a switch (or router) and the x86 appliance on which CSD-Topology software is installed.
Configure interfaces on the JunosVM for IS-IS routing, for example:
[edit]user@csd_topology_junosvm# set interfaces em0 unit 0 family inet address 172.16.16.2/24user@csd_topology_junosvm# set interfaces em1 unit 0 family inet address 192.168.179.117/25user@csd_topology_junosvm# set interfaces em0 unit 0 family inet address 172.16.16.2/24user@csd_topology_junosvm# set interfaces em2 unit 0 family mplsuser@csd_topology_junosvm# set interfaces lo0 unit 0 family inet address 88.88.88.88/32 primaryuser@csd_topology_junosvm# set routing-options static route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop 192.168.179.126user@csd_topology_junosvm# set routing-options autonomous-system 1001

Configuring IS-IS on the CSD-Topology
To configure IS-IS topology acquisition and enable IS-IS routing, perform the following steps on the CSD-Topology JunosVM:
- Configure the policy.[edit policy-options]user@csd_topology_junosvm# set policy-statement TE term 1 from family traffic-engineeringuser@csd_topology_junosvm# set policy-statement TE term 1 then accept
- Populate the traffic engineering database.[edit protocols]user@csd_topology_junosvm# set mpls traffic-engineering database import policy TE
- Configure IS-IS.[edit protocols]user@csd_topology_junosvm# set isis interface interface level level metric metricuser@csd_topology_junosvm# set isis interface interface point-to-point
Configuring IS-IS Over GRE on the CSD-Topology
Once you have configured IS-IS on the CSD-Topology, you can take the following additional steps to configure IS-IS over GRE:
- Initiate an SSH or telnet session using the IP address for the CSD-Topology JunosVM external IP address.
- Configure the tunnel.[edit interfaces]user@csd_topology_junosvm# set gre unit 0 tunnel source local-physical-ipuser@csd_topology_junosvm# set gre unit 0 tunnel destination destinationuser@csd_topology_junosvm# set gre unit 0 family inet addresstunnel-ip-addruser@csd_topology_junosvm# set gre unit 0 family isouser@csd_topology_junosvm# set gre unit 0 family mpls
- Add the GRE interface to the IS-IS configuration.[edit protocols isis]user@csd_topology_junosvm# set interface gre.0 level level metric 65530user@csd_topology_junosvm# set interface gre.0 point-to-point
