About the Router Templates Page

To access this page, click Organization > Router Templates.

The Router Templates page provides a centralized view of all available configuration templates along with their associated site and router counts. It helps administrators understand where each template is deployed and manage templates throughout their life cycle. From this page, you can create, import, modify, assign, and export configuration templates, enabling consistent and scalable configuration management across the network.

Tasks You Can Perform

You can perform the following tasks from this page:

  • View configuration templates─You can:

    • See the list of all configuration templates.

    • Review how many sites and routers are currently associated with each template.

  • Create new configuration templates─Create a new template to meet specific configuration requirements; see Create a Configuration Template.

  • Import configuration templates─Import existing templates into Juniper Routing Assurance for reuse or standardization. You can import configuration files in JSON format from your local system. To import a template, click Import Template. You can either drag and drop the file or click to add it as an attachment. The following is a configuration template file in JSON format to set a login banner/message:

  • Select and manage individual templates─Click on a template to view and manage its details.

  • Add or update CLI commands─Add additional CLI commands to a selected template to extend or customize its configuration.

  • Assign templates to sites─Assign a configuration template to one or more sites directly from the template details view; see Deploy a Configuration Template to a Site.
  • Clone templates─Create a copy of an existing template to quickly build new templates with similar configurations.

  • Export templates─Export a configuration template to a JSON file for backup, sharing, or reuse.

  • Delete templates─Remove unused or obsolete templates from Juniper Routing Assurance, including templates not currently assigned to any sites or routers; see Edit or Delete a Configuration Template.
