Enable or Disable Router Configuration Management

Follow the steps described in this topic to allow or deny configure permissions for Juniper Routing Assurance to manage router configuration.

Enable Router Configuration Management for a Router

To enable configuration management:
  1. Click Routers from the main navigation menu.
    The Routers page appears, listing the routers managed by Juniper Routing Assurance.
  2. From the list of routers, select the router for which you want to enable configuration management.
    The Routers : Router Name page appears.
  3. Navigate to the Configuration tab, and then click Enable Configuration Management to allow configure permissions for Juniper Routing Assurance to manage router configuration.
Router configuration management is now enabled.

Disable Router Configuration Management for a Router

To disable configuration management:
  1. Click Routers from the main navigation menu.
    The Routers page appears, listing the routers managed by Juniper Routing Assurance.
  2. From the list of routers, select the router for which you want to disable configuration management.
    The Routers : Router Name page appears.
  3. Navigate to the Configuration tab, and then click Disable Configuration Management to deny configure permissions for Juniper Routing Assurance to manage router configuration.
    The Confirm Configuration Delete pop-up appears.
  4. You can choose to delete or retain the configuration committed to the Routing-Assurance group on the router.
    • Select Retain to keep the configuration on the router.

    • Select Delete to remove the configuration from the router.

    If you select Delete, the configuration is removed from the router. However, the deleted configuration remains visible in the configuration preview pane for future reference.

  5. Click OK.
Router configuration management is disabled. You can no longer configure routers using router templates and CLI Configuration feature in Juniper Routing Assurance.
